GCS Steps Up North American Operations for Conisio PLM Software
As part of their continuing strategy to further penetrate
the North American PLM market, GCS Scandinavia has designated
its top VAR in the world, d2m3 as Conisio Channel Development
Partner to support the expanding dealer network in the
US, Canada and Mexico.
Conisio is the first and only commercial engineering
document management system entirely integrated within
Windows Explorer. The system supports any application
running on a Windows-based computer including CAD and
all Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Project, and Outlook. The software is tightly integrated
with the most popular design packages: SolidWorks, Inventor,
AutoCAD, Solid Edge and MicroStation. Users perform
all functions through Windows Explorer or one of its
other integrations. This familiar look and feel results
in early user acceptance, minimal training, quick implementation
and short return on investment. Because of these advantages,
Conisio is one of the easiest and most affordable ways
to implement product data management (PDM) and related
product lifecycle management (PLM) initiatives.
The leading Conisio VAR worldwide, d2m3 is headquartered
in the UK and has offices in London, Boston and San
Diego. The firm specializes in PLM and business process
management for large-scale multi-national implementations,
thus bringing extensive experience and resources in
its new role of Channel Development Partner to support
Conisio resellers in the North American market. Industry
sectors in which d2m3 has operated reach beyond manufacturing
to include construction and architectural companies.
The firm's broad industry experience plus tools such
as a global on-line pre-and post-sales technical support
system they developed will be of considerable value
to North American resellers.
In a move to focus support on North American resellers,
d2m3 recently appointed industry veteran Patrick Brochu
to the position of Vice President Business Development,
North America. Formerly with Dassault Systemes, Brochu
is based in the Boston area and has been active with
major players in the PDM/PLM industry for more than
ten years experience he will bring to the already strong
presence of Conisio in North America.
"I welcome this opportunity to assist resellers
in further promoting Conisio for an ever-widening customer
base in North America," says Brochu. "The
software is perfectly suited to the large, mostly-untapped
mass market for PLM: companies looking for practical
functionality, ease of use, and low total cost of ownership."
He notes that Conisio implementation costs are lower
and software license fees are about half those of most
competitors, so overall cost is significantly less than
traditional PLM and document management systems.
"With his outstanding credentials and market insight,
we are pleased to have Brochu on the Conisio team and
to designate d2m3 as our Channel Development Partner
in North America," says GCS President Kenneth Hallberg.
"They have done outstanding work in PLM and will
definitely be an invaluable asset in supporting our
expanding network of resellers."
Hallberg explains that as part of their continued market
penetration strategy, GCS added three new Conisio resellers
in North America in June, 2005 and has most recently
included a further trio: CADD Edge (www.caddedge.com)
for the New England states, CADimensions (www.cadimensions.com)
in upstate New York, and CAE Northwest (www.caenw.com)
in the Pacific Northwest territory. Like all other GCS
value-added resellers in North America, the newest additions
are ranked among the top SolidWorks dealers in their
regions. The addition of these companies to the Conisio
channel brings the total number of North American resellers
to 13, plus another 25 in Europe, South America and
the rest of the world.
"Continued expansion of our reseller network and
partnering with d2m3 as Channel Development Partner
demonstrates our strong commitment to a growing user
base and confirms the importance of the North American
market in plans for widening our global coverage,"
says Hallberg. "Through such investments in customer
support and quality service, we remain close to companies
as they implement Conisio as one of the easiest and
most affordable ways to manage technical information
and share it throughout the enterprise.
