GCS Expands Reseller Channel for Conisio PLM Software
VARs use package integrated within Windows Explorer as simple,
affordable way to implement product lifecycle management.
GCS Scandinavia has announced the addition of three resellers
in North America for the company's Conisio software, the
first and only commercial engineering document management
system entirely integrated within Windows Explorer. The system
supports any application running on a Windows-based computer
including CAD and all Microsoft Office programs such as Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook. The software is
tightly integrated with the most popular design packages:
SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidEdge and MicroStation.
Like all other GCS value-added resellers in North America,
the newest additions are ranked among the top SolidWorks
dealers in their regions. MCAD Technologies (www.mcad.com)
is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, and covers the U.S.
Rocky Mountain region. SolidXperts Inc. (www.solidxperts.com)
is Quebec's number one SolidWorks reseller. Headquartered
in Ontario, Javelin Technologies (www.javelin-tech.com) is
Canada's largest SolidWorks value-added reseller and was
recently named Top Subscription Reseller in North America
by SolidWorks Corp.
The addition of these companies to the Conisio channel brings
the total number of North American resellers to 12, plus
another 14 in Europe, Australia, South America, and the rest
of the world. The firms provide sales, implementation, training,
applications assistance and other support services to the
growing number of Conisio customers. Technical support is
augmented by consulting firm Razorleaf Corp. (www.razorleafcorp.com),
which partners closely with many of the VARs in providing
PLM/PDM professional services based on its years of experience
with companies across a wide range of industries.
"We are pleased to include these newest additions to
the global network of experienced value-added resellers," says
GCS President Kenneth Hallberg. "This growing sales
and support channel widens our geographic coverage in North
America, strengthens our penetration into new markets, and
expands the range of customers around the world now able
to receive support services at a local level."
According to Hallberg, VARs are eager to include Conisio
in their portfolios of software because of the speed with
which it can be implemented and the high value the package
brings to their customers. "Users perform all functions
with Conisio either through Windows Explorer or one of its
other integrations, so Conisio has no proprietary interface
to learn and blends in smoothly with existing processes and
programs." He notes that implementation costs are lower
and software license fees are about half those of most competitors,
so overall cost of ownership is significantly lower than
traditional document management and PLM systems. "Affordability
and ease of operation make Conisio one of the easiest ways
for a company to implement PDM and related PLM initiatives," explains
Hallberg.
One of the most successful Conisio resellers in North America
is Fisher Unitech (www.funtech.com), a VAR and system integrator
covering Ohio, Michigan and other Midwest states. Company
president Charlie Hess reports that his mid-size manufacturing
clients use Conisio in developing a diverse range of products
including complex electronic equipment, precision machined
components for industrial systems and commercial outdoor
furniture.
"Conisio makes PLM affordable and easy to implement
for our clients," says Hess. "The software is one
of the easiest and least expensive ways for a company to
manage their technical information and share it throughout
the enterprise. People understand immediately how to use
the program and quickly integrate the capabilities into their
work. When you add up the cumulative savings throughout the
organization, time and cost benefits are significant for
these companies."
