File and folder data cards

Associated to each document is a user-defined File Data Card containing information about the file. Conisio’s advanced Card Editor allows you to easily build up and modify cards for various file formats. The cards may be designed with a variety of options like controls to launch applications, dynamic list controls with linked values, checkboxes and logically combined edit fields that build up compound data.

Each field in the card can be connected to the document itself with a bi-directional link. This makes it possible to modify properties in SolidWorks and Autodesk files using the file data card without having to start up their respective application. As files are added to Conisio, properties from the files are automatically retrieved and fields in the file data cards are instantaneously populated.

Project folders in Conisio can also be assigned user-defined folder cards to contain for example information about a project or customer. The folder data cards can also be used to batch update the file data card of files stored in the folder, removing the need to update files one by one when you for example change a project number.

The information stored in the data cards is clearly displayed in the Explorer preview window as you browse your file vault, making finding files, projects and the information you require quick and precise.
