| File vault with access rights
All documents in Conisio are securely stored in a central
file vault, preventing unauthorized access and assuring
documents never to be accidentally overwritten. The structure
of the file vault, in conjunction with the local working
area and cache mechanism, minimizes the need of network
bandwidth and assures high performance when working with
e.g. large assemblies.
The structure of the file vault also enables concurrent
engineering, which means that several users can simultaneously
update parts of the same assembly drawing.
Access to files, folders and tools in Conisio is controlled
by access rights on both an individual and a group level.
The rights may be valid for the entire file vault, for
whole folders, for single files or only for files of a
certain state. The rights may, for instance, vary from
only reading a file to deleting it, or to change the file
data card, the state in the workflow, or the revision number
of a file
Only one user at a time may update a particular document,
though any number of users may at the same time access
the very same document in read-only mode.
An Administrator manages these rights in user and group
profile cards from an easy-to-use administration tool.
Users in Conisio can also be syncronized with existing
Windows Domain accounts or LDAP accounts to allow users
to keep their normal Windows profile login.
